School Dress Code (SB 817): Provides that a school uniform or dress code policy adopted by a school board or local school council shall not include or apply to hairstyles, including hairstyles historically associated with race, ethnicity, or hair texture. Provides that a non-public elementary or secondary school registering with the State Board of Education must provide assurances that the school will not prohibit hairstyles historically associated with race, ethnicity, or hair texture.
Pregnancy/Postpartum Healthcare (SB 967): Provides that Medicaid and insurance plans cover various specified pregnancy and postpartum health services associated with reducing the rate of maternal mortality.
Fire Protection Districts (SB 1410): Entitles Fire Protection Districts to legal fees and court costs associated with pursuing real estate tax monies that are owed to them by municipalities, due to them not making the statutorily required real estate tax payments after territories are annexed from fire protection district boundaries.
