Sex Education Classes (SB 818): Requires sex education classes for grades K-12 (charter and public schools). Abolishes current sex-education standards. Requires a school, if it teaches sex education, to abide by specific standards, which some find very controversial.
Overdue Utility Debt (SB 1794): Seeks to incentivize electric utility companies to settle existing debts. Several suburban municipalities claim that utility companies are collecting late fees and are extremely delayed in forwarding those fees on to municipalities.
Port-Wine Stain Treatment (SB 2158): Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to mandate coverage for the treatment or maximum feasible treatment of nevus flammeus, or port-wine stain. Sets an age limit at 18 and younger.
